RecruitZ
I’ve been a longtime fan of Karice’s and was excited to read RecruitZ as soon as I saw the cover, even though I had little interest in zombies at the time. I bought it and added to my long TBR list. Then when I started watching the Walking Dead and became obsessed with Zombies I dropped everything else I was reading to start reading it.
RecruitZ grabbed me from the beginning and didn’t let go. The stage was set early, making the setting and mystery clear. There were so many twists and turns I didn’t see coming all the way to the end. I was really glad to have already had AlibiZ in my Kindle when I got to the last page.
The story starts out with Rebekah and her husband Gavin in the midst of a zombie attack. They ignore her and drag him off, leaving her not only heartbroken but also in shock. The zombies acted with intention, unlike the ones she was used to seeing in the streets.
Revenge was the only thing on her mind as she set out to find the truth. No one believed what she said about the zombies who took Gavin until she met Preston. I don’t want to give spoilers, but he’s also in search of the truth and they work together to find out what’s really going on – and you won’t be able to guess unless you read RecruitZ.
AlibiZ
I honestly didn’t think I would have time to finish AlibiZ to write a review for the tour, but I couldn’t put it down! It grabbed me from the beginning and didn’t let go.
It started some time after RecruitZ, but not too much longer. It began with kind of a Walking Dead feel, which was awesome! They went into a forest and discovered a group of people who were unvaccinated and didn’t believe that there even was a vaccine.
The pulse-pounding action started from there and seriously never stopped. Well, maybe for a page or two poor Rebekah and Preston were given a break. With everything thrown at them, they were great heroes, never giving up.
AlibiZ had even more surprising twists and turns than RecruitZ. Even if you’re not into zombies, you should invest in this series. It’s way more about the people than the zombies, but the zombies do play a part, it’s just not in your face.
(I was given a complimentary review copy of AlibiZ in exchange for my honest review.)
Scientists are the new rock stars. The infection has been contained for nearly three months, and the world is celebrating. But humans are still dying. Rebekah Taylor has seen it firsthand. Her husband was killed right in front of her by the very creatures that humans were told they no longer had to fear.
Rebekah is determined to find out who is responsible for the death of her husband and the obvious cover-up. Fueled with revenge, she begins to find answers that lead to one frightening conclusion. The apocalypse might be over, but the battles are just beginning.
The outbreak might be over, but the nightmare is just beginning…
Rebekah vows to expose the truth behind the RecruitZ that are killing the innocents. These creatures must be stopped, but so should the people controlling them. When Rebekah uncovers who is behind the uprisings, her own life becomes in danger.
Rebekah knows that she is not alone in this fight but vengeance alone won’t help her and the others to victory. It is up to her to uncover the truth for the public before the world is turned over to an elite few.
Regardless of what may happen to her, she knows it’s a race against time to destroy these creatures and the monsters controlling them before there is no one left worth saving.
I am curious when we can expect UprisingZ – I know at the end of AlibiZ it stated 2015 – I’m excited to continue where book 2 left off
