Day Fourteen: My 150k Word Month #NaNoWriMo #My150NaNo

Apr14

I got ahead yesterday, so I took advantage of that and wrote less today. Now I’m back to about where I should be. Let’s hope I don’t fall behind at any point! Almost halfway there!

So long as I write just over 6k each day from here on out (M-F) and then 3k on each Sunday, I should hit 150k by the end of the month.

I wrote 512 words in another WIP today…wish that counted toward my 150k words. I’m only counting first draft words.

Writing 6k a day is getting easier as the month goes by. Outlining definitely helps, and especially writing story beats the night before. I still give myself plenty of room to let the story go where it wants. Trust me, I do. If you were to read my original outline versus what has actually happened, a lot has changed, but it’s the fact of having a road map to guide me along the way that really helps to write more, faster.

This much writing doesn’t leave a lot of time for other things, such as going over finished drafts and marketing. I’ve hardly done any marketing this month, but have managed a new release and I just sent off a manuscript to beta readers.

It’s funny how a deadline can really increase productivity! I might have put that off until next month.
