I’m so glad that tomorrow is my day off. This thing seriously needs to be outlined and I’ve hardly started. I have such a pitiful outline, and I’m almost 13k into the story. No wonder today was like pulling teeth. At least the last 2k or so.
Anyway, somehow I managed to stay on target with my word count (85,954 for the month), but I have a feeling this novel is going to be one of those that needs extra work on the second, third, and maybe fourth drafts. If I wasn’t writing so much this month I would have outlined properly, but I ran out of time and then with taxes….
So, all in all, I’m doing well. Right on target with my words, will be able to catch up with outlining tomorrow. Some first drafts suck and this will probably be one of them. I’m okay with that. Sometimes it happens. As we authors like to say: give yourself permission to suck.

I’m up to about 84,000 words out of my 100,000 goal, so I’m on track. I’m thinking this one might end up going to 105,000-110,000 words total. We’ll see what happens next…
