Fallen (The Transformed)

Fallen is the prequel to the Transformed series (DeceptionBetrayalForgotten) and it’s also a novella, so it’s a pretty quick read—and a fun one. It’s from the perspective of one of the antagonists in the series.

Since Fallen takes place before the series, you don’t need to have read any of the other books to read it.

About

Is love enough to turn a bad vampire good?

Samantha Erikson is a vampire with one mission: to rule the world. She’s spent decades winning over the world’s most feared vampire, Vince Moretti. Just when everything is going according to plan, he sidetracks her with the assignment of pretending to be a high school student in a small town.

It’s humiliating enough to go from stilettos to sneakers, but Samantha must also follow the most boring person alive: the teenage girl who stands between her and the throne. When she has had all she can take, she finds a fun distraction: an attractive football player who isn’t scared of vampires. There’s one problem. Against her better judgment, she falls in love with him. Now she must decide between the mortal she adores and a place of power in the vampire world. If she tries to have both, she could lose everything.

    Book Review- Deception
The book is a romantic fiction that is set in the underworld of vampires. The story is about a girl (Alexis Ferguson) born from a vampire family who is brought by human parents who do not even have a clue that one of their daughters is not human. Alexis is like any other normal child who works hard at school to achieve what she wants. She is known to be a book worm and is very unpopular at school, unlike her sister Natalie, the favourite of their parents. At first Alexis lives a deceptive life unknowingly. Later on she lives a deceptive life knowingly and she cannot tell any member of her human family nor her human friends what is going on in her life. This is an underworld romance that sees Alexis torn between the love she has for two men, one a vampire and the other a human. The author’s style of writing is narrative and the language is simple and easy to follow. It is a first person narration. The story gets more interesting as Alexis goes through her transformation from human to vampire faster than any vampire and as she also learns that she is born in the vampire royal family. In fact she is a vampire princess. She also learns why she has been brought up in the Ferguson family and the reason why she has not met her vampire parents.
My thoughts: This is a very interesting book to read. It is a must read book. When I started reading the book I could hardly wait to finish work and go home to read. Though I am one who is scarred of vampire stories and make sure that I do not watch any vampire movies this book is different. The moment you start reading the first paragraph you do not want to stop. You get hooked to the book. Each chapter leaves you in suspense. The narration is of the present day and occasionally goes back to Alexis’s life during her first three years with her vampire family. The story relates to teenagers and adults especially parents who have love that is biased towards one child and of bullies at school and the effect bulling has on the child that is bullied. It also relates to keeping family secrets as well as the power struggles that are there between families. The characters of the book resemble real life characters and fiction. This was the first book I read by Stacy Claflin and it will not be the last.

Sorry to write on this. I am not getting any joy throught amazon.com
