Seeking New Beta Readers

What do I write?

I’m a multi-genre USA Today bestselling author who loves to tell tales that range from sweet and heartwarming to pulse-pounding and heartbreaking. If you enjoy romance without the bedroom scenes and thrills without gore, you’ll likely enjoy my stories in these genres:

• Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy
• Suspense/Thriller
• Contemporary Sweet Romance

What do beta readers do?

Beta readers are a vital part of my publishing process. They are a group of people who read and offer opinions and insights on a polished (but not final!) draft of my novel.

They help me see things that I, as the author, can’t see. I’ll never be a first time reader of my own stories, so I can’t read them from that perspective. It’s too easy to miss things in my own work, and that’s why I need beta readers.

It’s important to understand that being a beta reader is NOT a free read. It requires work and deadlines. Many beta readers enjoy being part of the process and seeing their input included in the finished product. Others enjoy seeing part of the author process. And I definitely appreciate all of my beta readers! 💖

What’s the process?

When I’m ready for my betas to read a story, I’ll send an email about the story and provide the date that I need to receive feedback.

As a beta reader, you decide if you have the time for reading and evaluating the story. If not, no problem. Maybe the next one will be for you.

If you do choose to be beta reader for the story, you will fill out a simple form letting me know.

Then I will send you the story in Google Docs. You will read the story and then leave notes in the form of comments as you read. Comments can include sharing that you enjoyed a part, you didn’t understand something, an action seems out of character, or anything that strikes you as you read.

The more initial reactions you can provide, the more it will help the story!

If for some reason you’re unable to use Google Docs, I will send you the story along with a Beta Reader Questionnaire. You will be required to fill out the entire questionnaire.

What if something comes up and you can’t finish a story that you signed up for? Life happens! Just let me know as soon as you can, and I’ll keep you on the team. I totally understand.
