I hope you’ve been enjoying this series as much I’ve enjoyed writing it! Today’s topic is Magic.
What do you think of when you hear about magic? Witches? Wizards? Prophets? Faeries? Unicorns? Disneyland? Zombies?
Okay, probably not zombies. Although, that might make for an interesting story.
In the world of the Transformed, magic abounds. The Fyrsturae castle rests nestled in the last enchanted forest left on the earth. Within the hidden woods, only visible to supernaturals, magic dwells.
The “garden” faeries live there, taking care of the forest and everyone living there. They tend to latch onto certain individuals, remaining especially protective of them. For instance, when Hella (one of the original vampires) went missing, a group of faeries took care of her secret cottage for the thousand years she was dead.
Unicorns are one of the most magical and powerful creatures in the forest. The vampires often choose to jump on a unicorn when in battle, because they’re so deadly and hard to kill – but more about that on the “U” day.
Witches are a powerful source of magic. As I’ve mentioned in other posts, the vampires often seek out witches when they need a spell or blessing.

My garden could do with some garden fairies to look after it ;P

I could use some to keep my house up! 🙂
Does telekinesis count as a magical power? No, well then, weather control. Micro and macro. I wouldn’t be a flim-flam man and sell rain to thirsty people though. I’d make it snow every day in winter, keep my drinks cool in summer, and learn to insta-BBQ with controlled lightning strikes. Best. Magic. Ever.
I would think it counts. That would be quite fun!
The hard part with magic in writing is keeping it consistent, while also maintaining enough limits to keep things interesting.
That’s quite true, but it does keep things exciting!
Hmm, I’m not sure what I think of immediately when I hear magic. David Copperfield, maybe? 😉
Magic could be so handy. Except for that usually coming with a price thing.
Is that a Rumpelstiltskin reference? I love that show. 🙂
Hmm, if it makes me sound clever, then yes 🙂 I was speaking generally, but that is very nearly a catchphrase for him.
I know what you mean. Now I can’t hear it without thinking of him! 🙂
Today, I’d like some magical pixie dust, the kind I could sprinkle on people to enable them to actually hear what they’re saying. I’ve had a day of looking at people while imagining slapping them hard across the head. If I can only have one magical thing, then i don’t want that. I want a magic wand. With instructions, please.
That sounds good to me! 🙂
If I had to choose a magical power I think it would be the power of healing. I’ve always thought that would be really useful.

That would be a great power to have! Think of all the good we could do with that!
I’d want time travel if I had a magic power. But I’d love a house elf to do my housework too.
Anything to help with housework sounds good to me!
WITCHES! Easily.
But they are my favorite.

That doesn’t surprise me! 🙂
The one thing that I remind when I hear m for magic is a magician or a wizard with a stick and hat .
If I had to choose a magical power then I would like to get invisible whenever i wanted and use it for good cause always.
