Wish I had Cover Design Secrets when I first published!

Whether you’re an author designing your own cover, hiring a designer or picking out a pre-made, this book will help you get the best cover for your book. Derek walks you through the process and even though he designs covers, he doesn’t push his services. He even goes as far as sharing links to other designers that he recommends.

Derek teaches the importance of color schemes (what works and what doesn’t) as well as what types of images and fonts work best for different genres. There are also common mistakes that many authors make that hinder sales. I know I’ve made the mistakes myself in the past.

There’s so much more to cover design than trying to cram your entire novel into one picture. It’s not about that at all. The cover is first and foremost a marketing tool. It tells a potential reader what genre the story is so they will want to read the blurb, reviews and sample…and then purchase. I’ve learned so much about how to do that by reading this book. (If you write nonfiction, he covers that too.) My kindle version is highlighted all over and I’ll definitely read it again and refer to it when I have specific questions.
