Unicorn Horns

What’s the big deal about unicorn horns?

In the world of my vampires, unicorn horns….

-Are filled with the deadliest poison on earth, able to kill any supernatural creature.

-Can be scraped for unicorn horn flakes. The flakes have a variety of uses:

  • The flakes help the rider bond (actually become one in mind with) the unicorn. The rider must eat the flakes, which taste like a sugary delicacy, prior to climbing on the creature.
  • The flakes also serve to work with faerie dust to restore failed technology, such as cell phones.

Who wouldn’t want a unicorn around with all those benefits?

Other interesting facts about unicorns

They are the hardest creature to kill, usually dying only of natural causes. Only a rare few have ever gained the bragging rights of having killed one.

Unicorns are shy creatures, so getting close to one can take a lot of work.

When they’re running and their hooves hit rocks or concrete, beautiful, multi-colored flames shoot out.

  2. So unicorns and vampires don’t mix so well? Do the flakes kill vampires as well, or is it like puffa fish that it’s only the internal bit that is dangerous?

So how does one get close to them to get the flakes to allow you to ride it in the first place?
I’m guessing most supernatural creatures tend to avoid them if they can poison them. Does it take ingestion or stabbing to kill them with the horn?
