Interview

What’s your story? How did you get into writing?

My story is about a woman who is kidnapped, but it is not any ordinary kidnapping. This man proclaims to be the one who is saving her life. Ranalla is confused as to who she can trust especially when she finds herself falling for her abductor.

I began writing about 4 years ago online when I was an assistant to a writer. I began by writing articles on a variety of subjects and just branched out from there. My fiction writing started when I had a recurring dream that was bothering me. A friend suggested that I write it out. I did and created my first novel.

What advice do you have for aspiring authors?

Just write. Get the story down on paper and then find a writer who you admire and trust to work with you. Having a mentor is one of the best things you could have. They can direct you on how to write, edit, and even get published.

Oh, and ignore anyone who says you are dumb for becoming a writer. They are just jealous.

What are you working on now?

I’m always working on multiple projects. I’m finalizing my last book in the Connections trilogy. I’m also writing my third mouse book in the Redemption Tales series. I am also working with several other authors on projects ranging from comedy/mystery to historical fiction to fantasy.

What has been the most challenging part of publishing or marketing your book?

Getting people to take a chance on my book. If they like this genre, they’ll love the book, but they have to give it a try first.

What has been your favorite part?

Of being a writer? I love being able to put the dreams and ideas in my head onto paper. From there, I love to drive readers crazy. As I was writing this book, I was sharing it with a friend. She was going nuts to get the next chapter as we went along. I so enjoyed that.

Who are your favorite authors?

Oh, I have so many: Tom Clancy, Sophia Knightly, Aiden James just to name a few. I’m always finding new ones that I want to follow.

If you could be any character in the book, which one would you be?

I don’t know if I would in this book. Other stories of mine, I have a clear answer, but here I don’t. There aren’t that many characters. Most are men. The women are so not me and don’t pull at me like the men do. Maybe that is because they are the mysterious ones.

What other books have you written and/or are working on for the future?

I have several books written so far and so many more in the works.

Connections Series – Deep Connections and Dark Connections are out. The final one, Deadly Connections, will be out real soon. This is a story that again started off as a simple romance and blew completely out of control. It is a paranormal suspense series with some romance in it, mainly in the first book. They also end on huge cliffhangers, but the final book will tie up all the loose ends. I think most people either love or hate the stories.

The Redemption Tales Series – This is a Christian series written for children but adults can enjoy as well. It is a fresh look at the stories of the Last Supper and the events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus and beyond, but the characters in the story are all animals. Mice and more witness these events without knowing who any of the players of the story are and tell what they saw and how it affected them. The third one is coming out next year.

How to Write a Book Review – I am an avid reader and book reviewer as well as an author. I found many people who were reviewing books to be incomplete in their review or have the completely wrong idea on what a book review was. I wrote this book hoping to help experienced and novice reviewers out in how to write a quality review that would benefit the author as well as potential readers.

The Abang Aku – This is the first in a series of horror/creepy novellas based on mythological creatures. To many who love horror, they might be just creepy. For me, they are horror and a shock I wrote them as I cannot stand horror stories. The second one will be out soon as well called The Baba Yaga

The Cost of Second Chances – This is a romantic suspense story about a woman who has been abused and almost killed by an old boyfriend. When she goes into hiding with the help of the FBI, she discovers strength and love again.

Leigh – This is a chick lit story about a woman who finds herself reevaluating her life. Her children are all but gone. Her husband is focused on his job, and her mother-in-law as well as her mother love to point out everything she does wrong. She has a chance to find herself again and the life she wants. During her journey, she’ll have to make many decisions that will impact the rest of her life and those around her.

What’s your favorite quote?

LOL I have a few but I think my favorite recently is “Reading is knowledge. Knowledge of Power. Keep Reading.”

What’s your favorite supernatural creature?

I think fairies, but I’m finding new favorites all the time as I read more and more books.
