The reason I send out review copies is so there will be reviews to help new readers decide if this is the kind of book they might like to read—and I’m counting on you to help!
—Reviews must be honest. Didn’t like it, no problem, but do say why. Loved it? Great! Do say why you loved it! (The review doesn’t have to be super long.)
—Reviews must helpful to the potential reader. In other words, it needs to be more than a simple, “Great book, I recommend it!”
—Reviews are NOT a book report like you wrote in school. (No spoilers! Those turn readers away, and nobody wants that.) Rather, reviews are about your experience as a reader. What did you love? How did it make you FEEL?
