Today I wrote 6,149 words giving me a grand total of 109,017 words for the month. I have to say that writing this much is quite tiring.
If you haven’t been following along all of my posts, I’m writing over 6k a day Monday through Friday and 3k on Sundays. I don’t like writing 6k in a day. At least not five days a week. But the good news is that I only have six more days like that.
Next month, I’m going to take a break and aim for 4k a day…and after this month that really will be a break! 🙂
Anyway, as far as today’s writing went, I had a bit of a bummer. If you use Scrivener, you might have the same problem I do. Every once in a while I’ll accidentally click something and then Scrivener will do something funny that takes me about five minutes to figure out how to undo.
Maybe it’s just me. Anyway, that happened this morning, and then Scrivener shut down. That meant that I wasn’t able to take my daily screenshot showing how many words I wrote. At least the words themselves are still there since Scrivener autosaves every four seconds or whatever.
Nice, huh? Anyway, if you do the math, comparing manuscript totals of today and yesterday, it shows I only wrote 3,739 rather than the 6,149 I claimed at the beginning of the post.
Why the discrepancy? Because I wrote 2,410 words in another book, adding a new chapter at the suggestion of my editor. With that many new words, I had to add it to today’s totals even though it wasn’t for the rough draft I’ve been working on.
Anyway, today was an off-day of sorts, but at least I got over 6k words. Only another 41k to go.
