Partition: The End of an Era (Cover Reveal and Musings)

Partition by Stacy ClaflinThe end of an era…

It was a difficult and bittersweet decision to make Partition the final book in the Transformed series.

Where it all began

Deception was my first published novel. It’s been through many edits and a cover change. In fact, the first four books in the series have.

I started writing Deception in April of 2012 and published it at the end of November that same year. With it being my first novel, I didn’t know what I was doing in a lot of aspects. (Hence the multiple edits and cover change.)

Deception300It was hard to imagine a trilogy, like some suggested I write. There was no way I could have imagined twelve main books, plus multiple side stories.

Where it led

Now, here I stand (well… sit) planning the twelfth and final book.  I’ve paused to write (and finish) other series in completely different genres.

The Gone saga. Box sets. The Seaside Hunters. Novellas. The Mercy books. Short stories. Multi-author bundles. A personal collection.Gone by Stacy Claflin

I’ve met some wonderful and interesting people along the way, readers and other authors alike.

All in all, it’s been a blast. I went from secretly writing Deception to making a full-time living at this. So, to anyone who has purchased and/or reviewed any of my books – or supported me in any other way, such as beta reading – I can’t thank you enough!

Where it’s going

The final book of the Transformed series WON’T be the end. Not of the story world. Not of the characters you’ve grown to love. There will be more of them to come…

Seaside Surprises by Stacy ClaflinThere will be a new spinoff series featuring Mr. Foley, also known as Tobias or Toby. He’s a reader favorite, and I’ve had more requests for him than any other character. At least in this series.

The requests have not fallen on deaf ears. I just needed to complete the Transformed series so I could give Mr. Foley his own. Will he finally find love—love that will last? Will he be able to maintain the peace he worked so hard to attain? You will soon find out!

With so many treasured characters in the series, many are sure to make appearances in the new series. I’m sure we’ll see Alexis and Alre. Some of the other Fyrsturae. Other side characters, such as Tanner and Samantha, Clara, Ziamara, and more.

We’ll also explore parts of the world previously unexplored. For example, the witches have mostly been seen as enemies – or at the very least, a means to an end. What about all the good ones out there?Bayside Evenings

Partition (the last book of the Transformed) will weave in the new series, but rest assured Mr. Foley’s series will stand on its own. More information coming soon.

Other series updates

With the completion of the Seaside Hunters series, I’m working on a spinoff series. The Bayside Hunters are cousins to the Hunter brothers we already know and love.

No Return by Stacy ClaflinWe met Logan, the powerful attorney in several of the Seaside books as he helped our friends get out of some trouble. In Seaside Christmas, we met two of his siblings: Sullivan and Dakota.

They have two more that we’ll meet in the Bayside books: Freya and Shale – twins! Freya is a fashion model and Shale is a damaged firefighter. They’ll return home for a friend’s funeral, and… well, you’ll have to wait and see! But if you enjoyed the Seaside Hunters, rest assured you’ll love these five siblings, too.

The Gone trilogy ended, but if you’ve been following it, you know that wasn’t the end, either. While there are no additional trilogies or series planned, there will be at least three side stories. Dean’s List (Lydia’s story) is already available. I’m currently writing No Return, which is Rusty’s story. Luke will also have one of his own.

Beyond that, my Mercy series, will finallyHaunted by Stacy Claflin
receive its final installment next year. Not only that, but it’s getting a complete overhaul:
-A new name (Haunted)
-A new cover (peek to your right)
-All three parts will be combined into one volume
-Parts one and two will be revised

Chasing Mercy was originally meant to be a standalone (based loosely off an episode of Supernatural) but the early readers wanted more, so I wrote Searching for Mercy. They wanted more again, so I promised a third book.

My other series have been received with much more excitement, so this one has continued to get pushed further and further back on the back burner of my to-write list.

But I’m a person of my word, so I will write it! And the wait won’t be much longer as it’s next in line after I finish No Return.

Thank you if you read through my thoughts and ramblings. I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing more about my journey as a writer. I love my story worlds, my characters, and my readers.

Thanks, Stacy. I’m always both nervous and excited when a book comes out, so I guess I’m at the point right now where I’m just hoping everyone likes it as much as I liked writing it. And I can’t wait to read the Partition!

  2. I love seeing how each of your series and spin offs have come about. It’s such a great adventure, and you give us all inspiration. 🙂

This is one of my favorite series! I love your work and am so excited for Partition, but very sad that it’s the last book? When are you planning for it to be released?

    1. Thank you so much, Joni! 🙂 I’m definitely sad for the series to end, too. I’m writing it now, and it’s hard knowing it’s the last one. On the other hand, I’m SO excited for Toby’s series. Partition reveals a lot of what’s coming with him.

I don’t have a release date yet, I’ll know a lot more once I finish the first draft. Aiming for March. Sooner if I can manage. I tend to aim high, though. 🙂

Also, you’ve motivated me to carry out my plans on writing! So, thanks! You took all the good book ideas though 😉

    1. That’s wonderful! 🙂 Definitely write! …and there are countless ideas. More than I have time to write. 😉
