Book Description: A Gift for Emily picks up right where A Kiss for Emily leaves off. And when a bouquet shows up on the doorstep from an unknown suitor, life really gets complicated.

My Review:

This is the second book in the series and I had not read the first one. With that in mind, it was one of those where reading the first book is not necessary. I was able to follow it easily without having read it. Though it would have made it easier to appreciate what was going on and to care about the characters.

The book starts out giving a brief synopsis of what happened in the first book, allowing the reader to catch up.  Then we find ourselves in the world of Emily Stokes who is dating a ghost named Sam. At first, I was worried that the entire book was going to be about how they want to kiss, but are unable. That was not the case, it ended up with suspense, mystery, and danger.

I found it to be interesting although it took me a while to really get into it (I chalk it up to not having read the first book) and by the end, I was surprised by the twist and definitely wanted to know what was going to happen next. I do recommend A Gift for Emily, although I would recommend reading book one first.
