X is for Xanax #atozchallenge

Xanax

xanax

Trying to find an “X” word for today’s challenge left me feeling the need for some Xanax – a medication often used for the treatment of anxiety!

Since my A-Z series is about my Transformed series, I thought I would write about some characters within the series that could use some Xanax themselves.

I’ll start with Alexis Ferguson, the main character in the series, after she discovers the truth behind her adoption. Not only did her parents deny that she was adopted for a long time, but the truths surrounding her early years are more than she can bear. She goes through a wide range of emotions from anger and frustration to confusion, denial, and even arrogance.

One could also say that her (adoptive) parents could have used some Xanax themselves, because even though denied the adoption, they treated their natural daughter, Natalie, much better. The favoritism was blatant  and undeniable, yet they somehow managed to deny it. But later, when the truth about the adoption comes out, their actions make a lot more sense.

Ever feel like you need some Xanax?

  1. Ive never needed to resort to Xanax but would definitely try it. I hear its very relaxing…

    1. I’ve never tried it either, but heard good things!

  2. Alexis’ anxiety is understandable if her parents treated her so differently.

    1. Yes, I think it would make anyone ridden with anxiety!

  3. I have a few characters that could use some Xanax too! 🙂

  4. Great choice for X Day. I’ve taken Xanax, and it was not a happy experience. I wouldn’t say it lessened my anxiety. It did distract me from it by providing me with some interesting hallucinations. There’s something that might make a good obstacle for some of my characters!

    1. I’m sorry to hear it didn’t help with anxiety, but it sounds like it did help though! 🙂
